Ruud Schobbers

I studied Food Technology in The Netherlands and graduated in 1983. From that moment on I am active in the food industry where I soon discovered the intriguing world of the food ingredients. As a seasoned, innovative Business Development Manager I nowadays combine knowledge about Food Ingredients, Commercial Awareness and Business Development to further develop customers, sales teams and the own organization.

Another world that was intriguing for me is photography. With an analogue CANON SLR a lot of photos were taken in the nineties and discussed with other hobbyists. When the children grew up I started with the first steps in the digital world.
The start was made with a second-hand CANON 350D with a 24-105 zoom. I wanted to use this camera for sports photography, and bought therefore a CANON 70-200 f/2.8L IS. With this lens I could get some nice pictures from the soccer games of my 3 sons.
After a few years I felt I needed an upgrade of the camera, that’s why the EOS 350D was sold and the CANON EOS 7D was his successor. Lenses changed, and the 24-70 f/2.8L, the 70-200 f/2.8L IS and a Tokina 12-24 f/4 were the lenses to shoot with.
In March 2015 I decided to upgrade to the CANON EOS 7D Mark 2. At the same time I changed the Tokina 12-24 f/4 for a Tokina 11-16 f/2.8. Another upgrade was made in 2016 when the 70-200 f/2.8L was exchanged for his successor, the type II.

The start of November 2019 marked a new era for me. After more than 30 years working with Canon I changed to Sony and bought myself the Sony A9II. Full-frame & full-speed with up to 20 images per second!!! The budget allowed at that moment the purchase of the FE 70-200 mm F2.8 GM OSS, the FE 24-70 mm F2.8 GM, the 1.4 teleconverter and a Godox Speedlite V860II Sony Kit. This leaves still room for further investments in the future, as I would like to have a 16-35 and a 100-400 completing the range I currently have.

My main areas of interest are sports, landscapes & voyages. Whenever I go on a business- or family trip the camera is with me. I have fun shooting pictures, I hope you like checking them out! Feel free to contact me in case you have any questions.
